Before the Greeks made establishments in the scientific world, people were superstitious and believed that everyday events occurred due to God's mercy or wrath. They considered that everyday circumstances like rain, sickness were caused by God's or spirits.

However, the Greek scientists started searching for natural explanations for the events which occurred in life. The Greek scientists made observations and then generated hypothesis to test for their observations just like the scientific method.
