I'm assuming the "x+2" is the exponent. If so, then

3^(x+2)*3^x = 3^(x+1)

is false.

Recall that when we multiply exponential expressions of the same base, we add the exponents.

So it should be
3^(x+2)*3^x = 3^((x+2)+(x)) = 3^(2x+2)

If the
3^(x+1) was
3^(2x+2), then the original equation would be correct.
