This will be my 9th Rose Bowl (that I can remember). Biggest difference? The price, for the same seats, just opposite sides of the field. $255 vs $36, 2020 vs 1987. O.K. Mathematicians, what's the inflation rate over 33 years?

Answer:

The inflation rate is 7.0833 which means the price of the seat has increased 7.0833 times the initial price over the last 33 years

Explanation:

Here we are supposed to find the inflation rate over 33 years for the same seat.

As time passes the price of commodities also increase and that's why there has been an increase in the price of the seat.

In 1987,the price of the seat was $36 while in 2020 the price of the same seat is $255.

Inflation rate =
(final price)/(initial price)

=
(255)/(36)

= 7.0833

The inflation rate is 7.0833 which means the price of the seat has increased 7.0833 times the initial price over the last 33 years.
