What does it mean for a solution to have a pH of 7.2? What does that value for pH represent?

If a solution has a pH of 7.2, it is a base. 7 on the pH scale is neutral like water. If you go to the left you have your acids which turn litmus paper red. Acids are generally sour, and they release HCl. On the other hand, bases are to the right. They turn litmus paper blue. They are more bitter. They release -OH. The values on the pH scale represent how acidic or basic somethin is. Hope this helps.
