Each photo system captures the energy from sunlight by exciting electrons and these energized electrons are transported by “energy carrier” molecules, which power the light-independent reactions.

The light-independent molecules depend on the ATP and NADPH, to form new carbohydrate molecules. After energy is transferred, the energy carrier molecules return to the light dependent reactions to take more energized electrons. but several enzymes of the light-independent reactions are activated by light.
