Based on the Source 2 chart and your knowledge of Social Studies, would you have supported the Federalists or the Anti-Federalists in the debate about whether to ratify the Constitution? Although both positions have a lot of merit and make a lot of sense, I would have supported the Federalists. I believe that this would have been likely, as their ideals match my own more closely. The Federalists believed that a strong federal government is preferable to strong state governments. I believe this to be the case, as a strong federal government is more likely to be able to ensure equal rights and protections across state lines. Moreover, a federal Constitution has the power to control the excesses and abuses of the federal government. Finally, I believe that new, modern industries were the future of the country, as opposed to farming.
