Explanation:

The given equation is 6 x² + 8 x - 8 = 0 ......................(i)

Divide by 2 in equation (i) both sides-

3 x² + 4 x - 4 = 0

3 x² + 6 x - 2 x - 4 = 0

3 x ( x + 2 ) - 2 ( x + 2 ) = 0

( x - 2 ) (3 x - 2 ) = 0

Hence ( x - 2 ) & ( 3 x - 2 ) = 0 are the factors of the given equation.
