First we must distribute on both sides of the equation. If we distribute the 5 on the left we should end up with,

-20m + 10 = -2(3 + 6m)

Then we can distribute the right side,

-20m + 10 = -6 - 12m

We want to move the m's to one side so let's move the -20m to the right by adding it to both sides.

-20m + 10 + 20m = -6 - 12m + 20m

This gives us,

10 = -6 + 8m

Finally we want to move the -6 over to the left by adding it to both sides.

10 + 6 = 8m

16 = 8m

From here we divide both sides by 8 to get m alone.
