The perimeter of the rectangular picture frame is 108 mm. Find its length and width if the width is 3 more than twice the length.

Answer: a=17 mm length

b=37 mm width

Explanation:

P=2a+2b

a -length

b-width

b=2a+3

------------------

108mm=2a+2(2a+3)

108=6a+6

6a=102

a=17 mm

b=17*2+3

b=34+3

b=37 mm
