(x+3)/(4)

Explanation:

let y = f(x) and rearrange making x the subject, that is

y = 4x - 3 ( add 3 to both sides )

y + 3 = 4x ( divide both sides by 4 )


(y+3)/(4) = x

Change y back into terms of x


f^(-1)(x) =
(x+3)/(4)
