A ramp is 10 feet in length. The ramp is lifted 4 feet off the ground to the truck door. What is the distance across the

ground from the bottom of the ramp to the ground underneath the truck door? Approximate to the nearest hundredth.

The height is 4 feet , lifted to the truck door.

It meas, the triangle formed is right triangle.

So, we can use Pythagorean theorem in this triangle.

As per Pythagorean theorem,
c^2=a^2+b^2


10^2=4^2+x^2


100=16+x^2


x^2=100-16


x^2=84

Taking square root on both sides


x=9.17

hence the distance is 9.17 feet. : Answer
