The slope of the line that passes through the pair of point (5, 7), (2, 1) is 2

Solution:

Given that line that passes through the pair of point (5, 7), (2, 1)

To find: slope of the line

The slope of line is given as:

For a line passing through two points
(x_1, y_1) and
(x_2, y_2) slope is given as:

m=(y_(2)-y_(1))/(x_(2)-x_(1))

Here in this problem,

\left(x_(1), y_(1)\right)=(5,7) \text { and }\left(x_(2), y_(2)\right)=(2,1)

Substituting the values in above formula,

m=(1-7)/(2-5)=(-6)/(-3)=2

Thus the slope of given line is 2
