Two sides and an angle (SSA) of a triangle are given. Determine whether the given measurements produce one triangle, two triangles, or no triangle at all.

Solve each triangle that results.
a = 9.7, b = 49, Upper A = 26°

These measurements will not form a triangle.

Explanation:

We have sine formula

(a)/(sinA)=(b)/(sinB)=(c)/(sinC)

Given

a = 9.7

b = 49

A = 26°

Substituting

(a)/(sinA)=(b)/(sinB)=(c)/(sinC)\\\\(9.7)/(sin26)=(49)/(sinB)\\\\sinB=2.21

Value of sin B is greater than 1, which is not possible.

Hence these measurements will not form a triangle.
