How do i solve (-5)^2+6(-5)-9

So basically,

(-5)² + 6(-5) - 9

25 + 6(-5) - 9

the 6(-5) becomes negative 30.

25 - 30 - 9

then i'd just do it straight across.

-5 - 9

-14.
