steps:
$549/4 people
= $137.25/person
20% of $137.25
= 0.2 x 137.25
= $27.45
$27.45 + $137.25
= $164.70
therefore, mike will pay $164.70: $27.45 as a tip to the deckhand and $137.25 for his individual share of the entire trip.
