Answer:

y = (1/3)x +5/3

Explanation:

The general equation of a line is

y = mx+b

where m is the slope and b the y-intercept

Since the slope is 1/3 we have

y = (1/3)x +b

since the line passes through (x,y) = (-2,1) this point satisfies the equation

1 = (1/3)(-2) + b ===> b = 1+2/3 ===> b = 5/3

and the equation of the line is

y = (1/3)x +5/3
