Answer:

Number of chromosomes in body cells:

Females: 46

Males: 46

All the autosomal cells of the body whether male or female have 46 chromosomes.

Example of body cells:

Females: cartilage cells

Males: red blood cells

Number of chromosomes in sex cells:

Females: 23

Males: 23

Sex cells have half the number of chromosomes as compared to the autosomal cells. Thus is because half of the chromosomes would arise from the other parent at the time of gamete formation.

Type of sex cell:

Female: Egg cell

Males: sperm cells
