Answer:

The number for the given statement is 12

Explanation:

Given as :

The statement is written as

Three tenths more than the product of -4 and a number less than 11.98.

Let The number = n

Now, from the statement

(3)/(10) + ( - 4) (11.98 - n) = 0

Or, 0.3 - ( 4 × 11.98 ) + 4 n = 0

Or, 0.3 - 47.92 + 4 n = 0

Or, 4 n - 47.62 = 0

Or, 4 n = 47.62

∴ n =
(47.62)/(4)

I.e n = 11.9 ≈ 12

So, The number is 12

Hence The number for the given statement is 12 . Answer
