Answer:

After 4 hours the cars will be at a distance of 232 km.

Explanation:

Given,

Speed of slower car = 26 km/h

speed of faster car = 32 km/h

We have to find out after how many hours the cars will be at a distance of 232 km from each other.

Let after h hours the cars the cars will be at a distance of 232 km.

And we know the formula of distance is speed multiplied with time.

Distance = Speed* Time

The given distance is the sum of the distance traveled by slower car in h hours and the distance traveled by faster car in h hours.

Given distance = distance of slower car + distance of faster car

Framing it in equation form, we get;

26* h+32* h=232\\\\26h+32h=232\\\\58h=232\\\\h=(232)/(58)\\\\h=4\ hrs

Hence after 4 hours the cars will be at a distance of 232 km.
