In order to find a median you have to take all of the numbers in the frequency and arrange them from lowest to highest in value

1, 1, 2., 2., 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 9

The median is the data value in the middle of the set

1, 1, 2., 2., 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 9

If there are 2 data values in the middle (which there are) the median is the mean of those 2 values.

To find the mean: Add up all data values to get the sum

Count the number of values in your data set

Divide the sum by the count

This would equal 3.5.
