How do I solve this ?8x-5=2x+25

trying to find the value of x i’m assuming. so you have to find a number that would work on both sides and make them equal. it’s a lot of trial and error. it’s 5 btw. because 8•5-5–> 40-5=35, and the other side 2•5+25–> 10+25=35. and now the sides are equal so your answer is 5. hope this helped!

-2x. -2x
6x-5=25
+5. +5
6/6x=30/6
x=5
