f = -10 because you add 8f on both sides causing it to be 10+f=0

Then, you subtract 10 from both sides to get f = -10

Answer:

f = -10

Explanation:

Isolate the variable, f. Note the equal sign, what you do to one side, you do to the other. Do the opposite of PEMDAS.

Note that: PEMDAS is the order of operation, and stands for:

Parenthesis

Exponents (& roots)

Multiplication

Division

Addition

Subtraction

First, to isolate the variable, add 7f to both sides of the equation:

10 - 7f (+7f) = -8f (+7f)

10 = -8f + 7f

Combine like terms:

10 = (-8f + 7f)

10 = -f

Isolate the variable, f. Divide -1 from both sides:

(10)/-1 = (-f)/-1

f = 10/-1

f = -10

f = -10 is your answer.
