If we follow PAMDAS ( Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction ) First we do what's in the Parenthesis which is 2+2 and we all know that equals 4. When the parenthesis is next to a number we multiply. So now the problem is 8 / 2 * 4. This is the same as 8 / 2(4). In PAMDAS Multiplication comes before Division, So we do 8 / 2. 8 divided by 2 equals 4 so now all we have left is 4*4. 4 times 4 equals 16. Thais where the quotient (answer) of 16 comes from.
