1. Michael had to overcome many obstacles such as living in a high-crime area, rarely having a father figure, his mom being on drugs, and constantly having to live in a foster home during most of his childhood. I feel the biggest impact on Michael was constantly moving schools. I doubt he could really get a sense of home or make very many friends if he made any at all. This is further proven by the fact that at his new school, one of his friend's parents noticed him, and began to take care of Michael.
2. I disagree with Randy's statement, because if Michael hadn't done all of the extra work fixing his old grades, maintaining his current ones, and doing well on the football field, he wouldn't be where he is today. He got College admittance because he raised his GPA. If he wasn't in a D1 school, he most likely wouldn't have been drafted.
I hope this helps!
