Answer:

The Silver Family spent $119.96 on each girl and $59.98 on each boy.

Explanation:

Let Money Spent on each girl be x.

Also Let money spent of each boy be y.

Given:

The silver family spent twice as much money for each girl as they did for each buy.

Hence equation can be represented as;

x=2y \ \ \ equation \ 1

Also Given:

Total Money of $419.86 were spent on two girls and three boys.

Hence equation can be framed as;

2x+3y = $419.86 \ \ \ \ equation\ 2

Now Substituting equation 1 in equation 2 we get;

2x+3y=419.86\\\\2(2y)+3y=419.86\\\\4y+3y=419.86\\\\7y = 419.86\\\\y=(419.86)/(7)= \$59.98

Substituting value of y in equation 1 we get;

x=2y=2* 59.98 =\$119.96

Hence The Silver family spent $119.96 on each girl and $59.98 on each boy.
