Its a pretty easy problem but iv never understood surface area and or area itself so please help!

Hey there! To find surface area, we need to cut this figure into 3 separate shapes (I included a link to help explain a little better). Once this is done, calculate the area of each one, using the formula length * height. Now, add up the area from each individual shape, and you've got the answer!

Figure A: 1 * 3 = 3

Figure B: 1 * 3 = 3

Figure C: 1 * 4 = 4

3 + 3 + 4 = 10.

Therefore, the surface area of this figure is 10.
