jess is runing around in a circular track, one lap every 40 seconds. cameron is also running at a constant speed around the same track but in the opposite direction. they meeet every 15 seconds. how many seconds does it take cameron to do one lap

They meet every 15 seconds. SInce they go in opposite direction, they combined distances during 15 seconds are equal to a whole lap length. In 40 seconds Jess does one lap, so for a rule of 3, we have that in 15 seconds she does

40s ⇒ 100%

15s ⇒ Y

Y = 15/40*100 = 37.5% of a lap

This means that 62.5% is made by Cameron in those 5 seconds. Again, for a rule of three, a 100% would be made in

15s ⇒ 62.5%

x ⇒ 100%

x = 15*100/62.5 = 24 seconds.

So it takes 24 seconds for Cameron to do a lap.
