Answer:

India is like a subcontinent of Asia. It juts out from Asia in a triangular kind of shape. It has mountain ranges to the north, and these mountain ranges are the Himalayas.

India is considered South Asia because of culture differences between their East and Southeast Asian neighbours. However, they share a lot of common religiously with Southeast Asians, particularly Hinduism and Buddhism which has spread throughout Asia. Also, India is not separated by a large body of water or any prominent geological features so it is on the Asian continent.
