It can affect self esteem mainly by the factor of being compared or the amount of fame you have. The less “fame” you have the more you can feel like you are lesser than a person who has more followers/likes on their profile

Seeing other people online that you may persevere as prettier than you or having a better body can have make you perceive yourself as ugly and not good enough.
