A farmer raises ducks and cows there are 28 animals all together the farmer count a total of 94 legs how many of each type of animal does a farmer have

  • 19 cows
  • 9 ducks

Explanation:

If all were ducks, there would be 28·2 = 56 legs. There are 94-56 = 38 more than that. Each cow that replaces a duck adds 2 legs, so there must be 38/2 = 19 such replacements, hence 19 cows. The remaining 28-19 = 9 animals are ducks.

There are 19 cows and 9 ducks.
