What is the equation of the line that passes through the point (2,4) and has a slope of 4 ?

Answer:

Y=4x-4

Explanation:

The equation should be written out like this: Y=mx+b

Where m is the slope and the slope was given so you put the slope (4) where the m is so it'll now look like this Y=4x+b.

Now the part you will have to find is b. The point (2,4) was given where x is 2 and y is 4.

The equation you need to use to find be is m=raise/run. Or m=y2-y1/x2-x1.

The way we do it in my math is you have to plot it using a graphing calculator and find another point to plug into the equation above.
