In order to find the number of revolutions it takes for the bike to travel 2 km, we need to find the circumference of the wheel first. Essentially, the distance of one rotation of the wheel is the circumference.

πd = 2 π
2 π = 2*3.14 = 6.28 feet

Since we know that the circumference of the wheel is 6.28 feet, we simply need to have it divided by 2 kilometers:

2 km / 6.28 feet = 2(3280) / 6.28

We have to convert km to ft.

6560 / 6.28 = 1044.6

Round up:

1044.6 = 1045

The bike needs about 1045 revolutions to travel 2 km
