Multiply and simplify (3 + i)(4 + 2i)

(3 + i)(4 + 2i) = (3*4) + (3*2i) + (4*i) + (2i*i) = 12 + 6i + 4i + 2i^2

i^2 = -1

12 + 6i + 4i + 2i^2 = 12 + 6i + 4i -2 = 10 + 10i

Use the imaginary number i to rewrite the expression:

-
-√(-16) \\(-1)√((-1)16)\\(-1)√(16)i\\(-1)4i\\-4i
