advancement of West African countries
in the region.
They had resources like
salt and gold
and
West African kingdoms taxed all exchange
convoys stretching their provinces.
Trade participated in the increase of states that used trade to transport
pepper, slaves, salt and ivory
with other countries.
They had their commerce with the
European countries and Portuguese
were one of the main suppliers and takers.
The supplies played role in the development and helped merchants and citizens
