You have a lot of homework for one weekend. If you do one-fourth of the homework on Friday and one-sixth of the homework on Saturday, what part of your homework is left to do on Sunday?

answer:

7/12 hw to do on sunday

Step-by-step explanation:

1/4 + 1/6

= 3/12 + 2/12 (this is because u find the LCM (lowest common multiple) for both the denominators, to make the denominator the same

then after that add both together:

2/12 + 3/12 = 5/12

to finish the question, u subtract 12/12 by 5/12

= 12/12 - 5/12 = 7/12

so, therefore u have 7/12 left of homework to do on sunday.

Answer:

7/12 of the homework is left

Step-by-step explanation:

If x represents homework on Sunday...

1/4 + 1/6 + x = 1

3/12 + 2/12 + x = 1

5/12 + x = 1

5/12 - 5/12 + x = 1 - 5/12

x = 7/12
