Jenny went for a mountain bike ride in a relatively flat wooded area . she rode for 6 km in one direction , then turned and peddled 4 km in another . Finally she turned and rode 12 km in yet another direction . Stopping , Jenny took out a map and drew her path . Could Jenny be back at her starting point ? Could her bath be a right triangle?

For Jenny to come to her initial position ,

When we will draw three paths representing Jenny's path , then these three paths should form a triangle .(Since Initial and final position should be the same),

Now, Length of two paths are given as 4 , 6 . While Length of last path is given as 12.

Here, 4 + 6 < 12 .

So, These path could not form a triangle.

Since, In a triangle sum of two sides is always more than third side.

Thus, Jenny could not return back to her Initial Position.
