Explanation:

NB. Supplementary angles / Angles of a straight line add up to 180°

180° - 124° (the given angle)

= 56°

This means that the other part of the angle must be equal to 56° ...in other words (4x + 8)° = 56°

(4x + 8)° = 56°

56° - 8°

= 48°

So 4x = 48°

-Divide both sides by 4 in order to get rid of the 4 infront of the x so that you're able to get x alone to solve.

4x ÷4 = 48° ÷4

x = 12

You can substitute 12 in the place of x to see if this is correct.

(4(12) +8)° = 56°

56° + 124° = 180°

....therefore x = 12
