and midpoint is (-7,10)

So, the average of 3 and x is -7, and

the average of -1 and y is 10

We can solve for x first:


(3+x)/(2)=-7\\3+x=2*-7\\3+x=-14\\x=-14-3\\x=-17

and now solving for y:


(-1+y)/(2)=10\\-1+y=2*10\\-1+y=20\\y=20+1\\y=21
