For this case we must simplify the following expression:

(a + b) (a ^ 2-ab + b ^ 2)

We apply distributive property:

a * a ^ 2-a * ab + a * b ^ 2 + b * a ^ 2-b * ab + b * b ^ 2 =

To multiply powers of the same base, the same base is placed and the exponents are added.

a ^ 3-a ^ 2b + ab ^ 2 + a ^ 2b-ab ^ 2 + b ^ 3 =

We simplify similar terms:

a ^ 3 + b ^ 3

Finally we have:

a ^ 3 + b ^ 3

Answer:

a ^ 3 + b ^ 3
