Scientists have been studying threats to coral reefs. Some reefs around the Southeast shore of Australia have experienced increased threats while others in the Northwest shore of Australia have seen a decrease in threat. Explain the most effective way that scientists could use this information to design a new study aimed at developing reef protections. (3 points)

Scientists could compare environmental conditions in the threatened Australian reefs with other reefs near Florida, since there would be little overlap in their characteristics.

Scientists could compare environmental conditions in the two sets of Australian reefs, because those reefs are more likely to be similar in many ways. This will help highlight the difference that is causing the threat.

Scientists could compare environmental conditions in two sets of reefs in Florida and apply that data to the reefs in Australia.

Scientists could compare environmental conditions in reefs randomly selected from around the world to get the most variable set of conditions possible and to make good comparisons.

I would say the last one. Yes, the coral reef in the south is being threaten but, it’s not the only one. Many other reefs are being threatened. Why? To find the problem to this reef you need to find the problems of other reefs and compare the data. Which ever the most problem cause you get rid of that first.

Answer:

Scientists could compare environmental conditions in the two sets of Australian reefs, because those reefs are more likely to be similar in many ways. This will help highlight the difference that is causing the threat.

Step-by-step explanation:

As shown in the question above, there are differences between threats to coral reef survival in southeastern Australia. This is because threats to the southeastern reefs have increased, while in the northwest they have decreased. It is clear that the environmental conditions between the northwest and southeast of this country are different, however, it is more common for coral reefs in these regions to show some similarities that allow scientists to study this discrepancy between threats between the two regions.

In summary, we can say that scientists could compare the environmental conditions in the two sets of Australian reefs, because these reefs are more likely to be similar in several ways. This will help to highlight the difference that is causing the threat.
