International agenda

Truman wanted to reduce isolationism and assert control. He approved the Marshall Plan to help countries recover after World War 2 to help protect against the development of communism. He also helped set up NATO to keep military conflict occurring on the scale of WW2. Truman administration also got the USA involved in the Korean War.

Eisenhower’s administration removed the USA from the Korean War and help set up the cease-fire. It was also active in trying to prevent communism from South America. During this time the Space Race began.
