Don't know what kind of algebra this is, can't remember.

let g(x) = x + 7. find g(-4)

g(x) = 3

Explanation:

Simply substitute -4 in for x in the equation (as you can see -4 takes the place of x in g(-4), so just do the same thing for all of the other x's in the equations). Therefore, g(-4) = (-4) + 7. Well, since -4 is negative and 7 is positive, you can think of it as 7 - 4, which gets you 3. Voila! 3 is your answer :)
