Answer:

The amount of silver used in 2100 ounce mixture is 972.44 ounce.

Explanation:

The amount of silver used in 907 ounce mixture = 420 ounce

⇒ The ratio of Silver Used : Total Mixture = 420 : 907 .. (1)

Let us assume the amount of silver used in 2100 ounce mixture = m

⇒ The ratio of Silver Used : Total Mixture = m : 2100 .... (2)

Now, by the RATIO OF PROPORTIONALITY:

As, both equation (1) and (2) represent the same ratio, so they should be equivalent.

⇒ 420 : 907 = m : 2100

\implies  (420)/(907)  = (m)/(2100)  \\\implies  m = (420)/(907) * 2100  = 972.44

or, m = 972.44 ounces

Hence, the amount of silver used in 2100 ounce mixture is 972.44 ounce.
