the number is 6

since the number was lastly added to by 3, you subtract 3 from 45 to get 42

then you will divide 7 from 42

you will get 6

when you do an equation one way, to unsolve it you just go backwards

Answer:

6

Explanation:

The setup looks like this

X=the number

7X
7x+3=45

Subrtact the 3 from 45

7x=42

Now we need to get rid of the 7 on the left, so in order to do that, we divide seven from both sides

(7x)/(7)= (42)/(7)

Now we have our answer

x = 6
