Answer:the amount charged to wrap one small gift is $1

the amount charged to wrap one large gift is $9

Explanation:

Let x represent the amount charged to wrap one small gift.

Let y represent the amount charged to wrap one large gift.

They wrapped 33 small gifts and 44 large gifts earning $429. This means that

33x + 44y = 429 - - - - - - - - -1

They also wrapped 37 small gifts and 48 large gifts and earned $469. This means that

37x + 48y = 469 - - - - - - - - - -2

Multiplying equation 1 by 37 and equation 2 by 33, it becomes

1221x + 1628y = 15873

1221x + 1584y = 15477

Subtracting, it becomes

44y = 396

y = 396/44 = 9

Substituting y = 9 into equation 1, it becomes

33x + 44×9 = 429

33x + 396 = 429

33x = 429 - 396 = 33

x = 33/33 = 1
