Answer:

The Equation is
3x+2=50 and there were 16 friends at Jacks Party.

Explanation:

Given:

Total Chocolates Jack have = 50

Let the number of friends at Jack's party be x.

He gave 3 chocolates to each of his friends.

Total chocolates given to friend = 3x

And still had 2 chocolates left.

Chocolate left = 2

hence the equation can be framed as;

Total Chocolates Jack have is equal Total Chocolates to Jack friends plus chocolate left

Hence the equation is;

3x+2=50

Now Solving the above equation to find number of friends we get;

3x+2=50\\3x=50-2\\3x=48\\x=(48)/(3)=16

Hence there were 16 friends at jack's party.

Equation:
3x+2=50

Friends: 16
