Christopher is selling lemonade, he spent 4$ on lemons and sugar. If he sells each cup of lemonade for 2$, what equation can be used to find the number of cups, x, he needs to sell in order to make 85 dollars?

Total earning = $85

Number of cups = x

Here we have to find out the equation for earning $85.

Total earning is product of number of cups Christopher sold to price of each cup of lemonade.

The equation can be written as;

Total earning = Price of one cup of lemonade X Number of cups


\therefore85=2* x


85=2x\\x=(85)/(2)=42.5

Hence Christopher has to sold 42 and a half cup of lemonade in order to make $85.

And the equation is
