Answer:Here is some back story Martin Luther made the 95 These which was a list of all of the things that was wrong with the church. It was not only all the things that was wrong with the church they were things that the pope himself was doing like over drinking committing adultery and so on. The pope knew that if people started believing that there was a problem with the church they would start to lose there grip on the people and the political influence would go with it. So they did there best to silence martin luther and make it illegal to speak against the church or to be anything except catholic. So up to a point many didn't even know about the thesis or the problems with the church but down the line more people started to leave once they realized there was a problem with the church and in order to keep there followers the decided to create "new catholic church" which was meant to be a new and improved catholic church
