Which mixed number is equivalent to the improper fraction 22/7 ?

I think you meant to write 27/2

Improper fractions always have the larger number up top.

Use long division to find that 27/2 = 13 remainder 1

The 13 is the whole part and the remainder 1 will go over 2 to get 1/2

So we have 13 and 1/2 or 13&1/2 as the final answer

27/2 = 13 & 1/2

An alternative method is to break up 27 into 26+1, and simplify like so,

27/2 = (26+1)/2 = 26/2 + 1/2 = 13+1/2 = 13 & 1/2

which gets us the same result as before
