Using a 693 nm 693 nm wavelength laser, you form the diffraction pattern of a 0.107 mm 0.107 mm wide slit on a screen. You measure on the screen that the 15 th 15th dark fringe is 9.33 cm 9.33 cm away from the center of the central maximum. How far is the screen located from the slit?

Answer:

L = 0.9562 m

Explanation:

Given data:

wavelength of laser is 693 nm

distance of fringe Y = 0.107 MM

No of drak fringe m = 15

distance of dark fringe from centre if central maximum a= 9.33 cm

we know that for dark fringe distance of screen from silt is given as

L = (a Y)/(m \lambda)

L = (0.0933 * 0.107 * 10^(-3))/(15* 696 * 10^(-9))

L = 0.9562 m
